My Mission

My mission is to value each child as an individual through academics and personal excellence because I genuinely care.  I respect the specific needs and diversity of each child.  I meet the unique needs of each individual while simultaneously presenting fun-filled activities that offer meaningful learning opportunities.  I maintain a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to promoting self-confidence and the full potential of my students.  I maintain, model, and encourage a thirst for life-long learning.

About Me

I am proud to be a Battlin' Miner!   The Minersville School District has always been a huge part of my life.  I grew up in the Minersville area and graduated from the Minersville High School in 1992.  I then continued my education at the Pennsylvania State University where I became a proud Nittany Lion.  You could say that I have blue blood running through my veins!  I graduated from Penn State in 1996 with a bachelor of science degree in Elementary and Kindergarten Education.  I returned to the Minersville area and began teaching for my alma matter in 1997.  I found myself being Battlin' Miner proud from the other side of the desk!   I married my high school sweetheart in 1999 and we are now parents of two amazing children.  In 2010, I earned my master of science degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University.  I absolutely love teaching and I believe strongly in the people with whom I work.  I am proud to send my children to the Minersville School District and I hope that after a year in my class, you can say the same about your child.
